Photoncycle is a complete home energy system that lets households produce, store, and use their own renewable energy all year round. During summer, your solar panels generate more energy than you can use. Instead of selling it immediately when prices are low, the energy is stored. In winter, that energy powers your home’s heating and electricity, thus making you far less dependent on the grid and rising energy prices.

A simple monthly subscription with no upfront costs
With Photoncycle, there’s no upfront payment or hidden fees. Instead, you pay a fixed monthly subscription of up to 2,600 DKK per month. The price is capped, meaning you’ll not pay more, but in some months, you may pay less, depending on your energy trading revenues.

How energy trading works and why it matters
Photoncycle turns your home into an active part of the future energy system.
Your system produces most of its own energy. In summer, when solar production peaks and prices on the electricity market are low, the surplus is stored in your underground storage instead of being sold immediately. This stored energy can later be used during the colder, darker months, when production is low and electricity prices are typically high.
Because the system can store energy long-term, you benefit in two ways:
- You avoid buying expensive power from the grid during price peaks.
- You can sell stored surplus energy back to the grid when prices are most favorable.
This is what we call energy trading. The revenues from these sales are credited directly to your account and deducted from your monthly payment, reducing your total energy cost.
In other words, Photoncycle allows you to use your own solar energy first, store the excess for later, and trade intelligently — buying less when prices are high and selling more when they are right.
